Fraternidad NaturistaIn 1971 the Adventist Naturalistic Institute was founded by some American missionaries in Santa Lucía Milpas Altas, about 14 kilometers outside of Antigua, Guatemala. With the support and experience of Luis Flavio Back, a teacher of Guatemalan Phytotherapy with knowledge inherited by his Mayan ancestors, the institute thrived.
Two years later, Luis moved with his wife Lidia and their children to Jocotenango, a town located 5 minutes away from Antigua, Guatemala´s Central Park. It was here where the naturalistic clinic Fraternidad Naturista Antigua was born. In early 1977, more than 30 Brazilian students arrived to the Naturalistic Adventist Institute, and in 1980 the Brazilian Eliseu Pinho de Souza married Luis Back’s youngest daughter |
